Wash Day: Tangle Mania

I’m deeply sorry for this late post! My father’s birthday was over the weekend and there were a lot of things going on. I’m still trying to get into system of writing post all of the time. Bare with me please.

[0] I detangled my hair which was major trouble. Since my hair was really dry, it looked as if my hair was falling out. But, it was just shedded hair. There was no need to do a pre-poo treatment.
[1] I shampooed my hair in sections using Crème of Nature Sulfate-Free Moisture & Shine Shampoo. My hair gained back moisture and I was here for it. What I didn’t like about this shampoo was that I couldn’t tell if all the shampoo was rinsed out. I would massage my scalp and it would feel soapy and when I rinsed my hair again, it would still feel the same way.

[2] I used a towel to get the excess moisture out. I used coconut oil on my hair then used Aunt Jackie’s In Control Moisturizing & Softening Conditioner. I deep conditioned with heat for an hour using Laila Ali Conditioning Cap. My review for this conditioner and the conditioning cap is coming soon!
[3] My hair was really soft so I rinsed it out with cool water. While detangling my hair, I had so many tangles that it was ridiculous. I would turn around to face the shower head and I noticed hair everywhere. It made me think if I should stop my stretch or put moisture into my hair.
[4] I air dried my hair using the scarf method and finger detangling my hair is the truth! My hair still was tangled after I made sure that my hair was 100% detangled in the shower. I am so tender headed right now. As soon as my fingers get to a tangle, my head starts hurting and I want to be done with my hair but I’m sticking it through.
[5] At 95-100% dry, I added Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair Leave-in Conditioning Cream then sealed with coconut oil.
[6] Since my head was hurting so bad, I put my hair in a light ponytail and went straight to sleep.

This is my hair after I did my final rinse, cold rinse, and was preparing to air dry my hair. My hair was 100% detangled until my hair began to dry and all the craziness began!

This was day has me thinking about a lot of things. I really want to work on committing to M&S daily because dry hair is not the BEST hair. I’m thinking about ending my relaxer soon because my hair is shedding and breaking off too much. I also want to minimize tangles because I had enough of it. If you have any advice, please let me know.

  4. Every.single.time that I can't thoroughly detangle pre-shampoo, I regret it. Maybe you can try detangling and then pre-pooing with some oil or conditioner. Detangling is the devil!

    1. I will defiantly take that into consideration again KLP. When I tried to detangle, I couldn't manage to put my fingers through it because I was so tender headed.
